UNSW solar PhD leads simulated Mars mission

A UNSW photovoltaics PhD graduate and former academic Martha Lenio will command an eight-month Mars mission simulation funded by NASA.

Lenio is one of six “astronaut-like crew members” who will live in a dome that sits in an abandoned quarry on the slopes of the Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii.
